Felix Tang
Bio
Dr. Felix Tang is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Ocean Observing and Modeling Group (OOMG) at North Carolina State University, working under the mentorship of Prof. Ruoying (Roy) He. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanics with a specialization in Physical Oceanography and Climate Dynamics. Dr. Tang’s research focuses on multi-scale ocean dynamics in embayment-estuary-shelf-slope regions, air-sea-ice interactions, and numerical modeling of Earth systems. His current work combines numerical modeling with data assimilation and AI/ML approaches to study the physical oceanography of the Gulf of Mexico. Before joining OOMG, Dr. Tang held positions as a visiting researcher and research scholar at the University of New South Wales, Australia. His work reflects a commitment to advancing our understanding of oceanic and climatic systems through innovative methodologies and interdisciplinary collaboration.
