Sebastian Emilio Diaz Cortes
Bio
Forest scientist. I have experience in vegetation studies (tree diversity) and botanical curatorship (tree flora).
I’ve researched tree community ecology and functional wood traits in the Colombian neotropical forests. I’m interested in forest ecosystems’ carbon dynamics and their role in mitigating climate change.
Currently, we’re working on flooded hardwood mixed forests of the Atlantic coast (NC, USA). Our research focuses on the tree communities’ ecology and methane fluxes.
