Science on Tap with Kate Davis

March 10 @ 7:00 pm - 8:45 pm
Flyer for Science on Tap event with Kate Davis that shows an Illustrated science beaker full of beer. All text on the flyer is in the calendar post, except for the event's tagline, which reads, "Where Hops meet Hypothesis!"

Dr. Kate Davis will be the upcoming guest speaker at Science on Tap! Her presentation is titled, “Ancient Ocean’s Archives.”

No bigger than a grain of sand, foraminifera shells carpet the seabed, serving as remarkable archives for the past. Join us to explore the hidden world of these tiny fossils and learn how they inform us about changes in the ocean through time!

This event will also feature Science on Tap’s very first hands-on exhibit to accompany Dr. Davis’ talk! Come on down to Lynnwood Brewing Concern to SEE & LEARN all about foraminifera, the ocean’s natural archive. (Come to learn how to pronounce foraminifera too so you can impress your friends with your new knowledge!)

Science on Tap is presented by the NC State College of Sciences as a new, free monthly science event where you can learn about the refreshing science happing at NC State while enjoying beer and food. For more info, contact [email protected]
