October 14, 2016 | 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Ruoying He, Distinguished Professor in the Department of Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences, will discuss how visualization and computer modeling can aid in the understanding and prediction of “ocean weather.” He will discuss key processes driving ocean weather variability and procedures for developing ocean prediction models and visualizations. He will also provide examples of how these models and visualizations are used to mitigate both natural and human-induced marine environmental disasters.

Coffee & Viz is a program of the NCSU Libraries. Coffee and light refreshments will be available in an adjacent space beginning at 9:15 a.m.; program begins at 9:30 a.m.
