My research focuses on understanding how atmospheric aerosols interact with the Earth system, with particular emphasis on how these interactions have changed in recent decades and are projected to evolve through the end of the 21st century.
I am especially interested in the role of dust and biomass burning aerosols in shaping ocean biogeochemical cycles, including their contributions to both nutrient and toxic element deposition, and the downstream impacts on marine productivity, carbon sequestration, and ecosystem health.
To investigate these processes and their long-term implications, I use Earth System Models to simulate aerosol transport, chemistry and deposition, and to quantify how these processes contribute to broader Earth system feedbacks in a changing climate.
