Area(s) of Expertise
My research interests are at the intersection of modern and paleo- oceanography, and include chemical oceanography, micropaleontology, and paleoclimatology. My research combines lab-based, field-based, and sedimentary approaches to understand the long-term effects of global climate on oceanographic environments.
My current research focus on how oxygen and carbon content changes in open ocean environments in response to rapid climate change. I am also interested in questions of how the marine microfossils, such as foraminifera, record their chemical microenvironment and how they can be best used as paleoceanographic proxies to extend our oceanographic records into the past.
