Bio

I am a PhD student and graduate research assistant in the Department of Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences at NC State University. Working with Dr. Eric Wade at NC State and Dr. Linda D’Anna at East Carolina University, my doctoral research examines the social dimensions of marine renewable energy, particularly wave, tidal, and ocean-current technologies. My research interests include stakeholder engagement, community perceptions, ethnographic research, environmental justice, and the distribution of risks and benefits associated with emerging energy projects.

Before joining NC State, I worked as a research assistant at the University of Sydney under Dr. Bastian Thomsen. There, I contributed to interdisciplinary research connecting conservation, tourism, business, and qualitative methodology in collaboration with scholars from the University of Sydney Business School, the Sydney Environment Institute, and the University of Oxford. This work contributed to publications spanning wildlife rehabilitation, environmental education, sustainable tourism, and Indigenous relationships with wildlife.

With more than nine years of professional experience across international institutions, including Credit Suisse, AlphaSights, Deloitte, and the University of Sydney, my background spans research, management, and international business. I hold a BSc as well as two master’s degrees in management and international management. Outside of NC State, I co-own a Brazilian jiu-jitsu gym in Switzerland.
